T1's are really not that confusing. First off there are basically there are 2 main types of T1's voice or data. A voice T1 is usually ordered PRI for a call center. A PRI T1 consists of 23 individual telephone lines ordered in bulk with the ability to manipulate the number that displays on caller id (caller id manipulating available if you have a dialer that gives you this feature). This T1 will be delivered to your office much like a regular telephone connection but it will be a larger cat-5 type network cable. Our long distance rates begin at 1.1 cents per minute for out of state calls. On a long distance T1 you will almost always, if not always, pay a larger fee for your in-state telephone calls.

You will also save money by having a T1 because business telephone lines in most cases are around $50.00 per month per line but you can get a bulk order or lines via a long distance T1 for usually around $10 per line per month. A data T1 is basically a guaranteed internet connection of 1.544 megabits per second. Most people will easily notice that they get faster internet at home but the difference is GUARANTEED bandwidth that never goes below the 1.544 megabits per second. When you are making over 12 simultaneous telephone calls off of a data connection you should go ahead an pay the extra money to get a data T1 if you are using voip in our eyes.
