As indicated by a study done by a research firm, European telephony resellers have been going through beyond the expected sales of hybrid and IP telephony systems.

There were 150 VARs throughout EMEA that were questioned, and 87% of them reported constant or increasing revenue during the second quarter of that year.

Less than 15% stated that their sales had decreased, and 40% stated that there was a growth during the quarter of greater than 10%.  Hybrid systems scored exceptionally well.

80% of the resellers also stated that IP telephony was “secure and reliable”.

Still, 1/3 of the replies felt that there was still uncertainty in the market about what Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) was and what it’s capable of.
